JOURNEY
Closing Date: 18th February, 2026
Scarborough College is seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to join the Senior Management Team as Deputy Head (Sixth Form & IB). This is a pivotal role, providing strategic leadership of the Sixth Form alongside academic oversight of the International Baccalaureate.
The successful candidate will shape an outstanding post-16 experience, supporting students academically, pastorally and in their progression to higher education and future pathways. You will lead Sixth Form provision, promote recruitment and retention, and work closely with colleagues across the school to ensure a vibrant and aspirational culture.
Academic leadership of the IB sits at the heart of the role, with responsibility for curriculum oversight, assessment, results and staff development. Teaching remains an important element of the post, ensuring strong classroom practice and credibility with students and colleagues.
This role would suit a confident, organised and student-centred leader with a genuine passion for post-16 education and the ability to balance strategic oversight with visible, day-to-day leadership within a boarding school environment.
The closing date for applications is 18 February, with interviews scheduled for 23 February. Applications are considered as they are received, and the College therefore reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than advertised.
