Youth Worker
About
To engage and support young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds through developing projects, promoting participation, advocacy, and leadership, and maintaining a welcoming environment aligned with NOMAD’s values.
📍 Location: ARC House, HA1 3GR
🕒 Hours: 24 hours per week
💷 Pay: £14.50 per hour
👤 Reports to: Project Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold NOMAD policies, especially safeguarding, health & safety, and work collaboratively with colleagues and trustees.
- Lead and manage projects within NOMAD’s work programme, including planning, budgeting, reporting, and representation.
- Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to ensure diverse young people participate equally.
- Support young people's leadership development by providing guidance and training.
- Facilitate young people's advocacy efforts, helping them research issues, express views creatively, and connect with external stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Youth work qualification required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in youth or community work
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and promote inclusion.
- Knowledge of issues affecting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
