Job Outline
• To develop and deliver activities and support young adults accessing the first trauma-informed Multi-Agency Young Adult Hub of its kind in Wales.
• Engage young people in workshops and activities to build skills, confidence and lead healthier lives
• Engage with young people in the prison estate.
• As part of a team, working with the Young Adult Hub Centre Manager and partner agencies, to support the development and delivery of an accessible, trauma-informed, safe space for young adults, specifically young adults leaving prison through the Hub.
• Support and oversee volunteers to create and deliver support, activities and interventions that respond to the needs and issues identified by young adults leaving prison.
• Gather and capture data, recording the experiences, issues, needs, and outcomes of young adults in the criminal justice system and volunteers
Job Role
To support, assess and be responsible for the care management and support of a caseload of young adults: working with them in 1-2-1 and group settings as appropriate.
Collaborate with partner agencies to support delivery of earlier intervention or advocacy and support for young adult prison leavers.
Build partnership links with external providers to include hostels, local third sector, statutory and private sector to facilitate earlier interventions and activities.
Ensure processes and procedures are followed, including completing appropriate risk assessments to support effective service delivery.
Provide training, support, coaching and guidance to volunteers and partners, as appropriate.
• Keep and maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to monitoring information in support of the provision.
• Ability to work in partnership with a variety of organisations.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
• Relevant experience of working with young adults (paid or voluntary).
• Experience of empowering young people • Experience of assessment and planning programmes of support (action plans).
• Experience of supporting young people in one-to-one and group settings
• Experienced in delivering trauma-informed or similar approaches.
• Experience of enabling people to feel physically and psychologically safe, increasing resilience and recovery by understanding, recognising, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma.
