Role Overview

Cheam School is seeking a candidate to join the Science Department as a Years 5-8 Teacher for September 2026. This role is a full time post and a permanent role.

An outstanding and inspiring practitioner, the successful applicant will have expert curriculum knowledge and an insatiable appetite for learning. We are looking for someone who is able to build our pupils’ confidence and curiosity, enjoying the opportunity to develop their practice in this ambitious and successful school.

This post would suit someone looking to develop their career, either as a first placement or for someone looking to expand their experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a desire to work independently and as a part of the Science team. It is vital that they fit in well with the enthusiastic and hardworking nature of the existing staff.

Key Duties

  • Teaching of Years 5-8 Science, depending upon experience and expertise
  • Preparing pupils for external examinations at Year 6 and Year 8
  • Coaching of Years 3-8 Sport, depending upon experience and expertise
  • Possible responsibility for the pastoral care of a Form Group

Cheam was founded in 1645 and is one of the oldest prep schools in the world. Cheam is an IAPS boarding and day school with boys and girls from age 3-13 years.
