x2 Permanent Senior National Officer

UNISON is seeking to appoint two Senior National Officers. These are generic posts and the successful applicants may have to work across any of UNISON’s main bargaining groups. Initially, however, one post is in the Education & Children’s Servicies team and the other is in the Local Government, Police, Probation & Cafcass team.
The postholders will be expected to assist the National Secretary in developing the work of the Service Groups, leading national negotiations, managing staff in the department and representing the Service Groups on external bodies.
Applicants will be expected to have detailed knowledge of the services and issues covered by the Service Groups, as well as experience of campaigning, negotiating, policy development and servicing lay structures.
