We are looking for people to join our fantastic team at Somerset House Trust. As the home of cultural innovators, the Trust connects creativity and the arts with the broader society.

The Residents Team manage part of this dynamic, expansive creative network. Supporting our community to settle into and thrive in our workspaces we are actively manage relationships with our residents and deliver a community support programme designed to foster their professional growth.

With an emphasis on flexibility, our workspace options include private full and part time offices, co-working and dedicated desks. The Workspace Sales Lead will be responsible for supporting and driving sales activity across the full range of workspaces offered at Somerset House but will have a particular focus on securing new residents for our private offices. 

The Workspace Sales Lead’s responsibilities will include hosting viewings, converting sales prospects and creating a reporting dashboard or framework to provide up to date progress reports. The role plays a key part in strengthening our creative community by attracting organisations that align with our cultural ethos, charitable objectives, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB), all while supporting the achievement of income targets.

In addition to sales responsibilities, you will help raise the profile of our workspace offer and community within the cultural and commercial sectors. Supporting our community management objectives, you will build and maintain strong, positive relationships with our residents, ensuring they feel supported, engaged, and connected to the wider Somerset House community.

What we are looking for:

Sales Generation

·       Support the Sales Manager in selling workspaces, including private offices and shared workspaces, to meet budgeted income targets.

·       Proactively identify new sales opportunities and follow up on enquiries to maximise occupancy.
· Use creative, cultural, and professional networks to help source potential residents and members who meet our commercial and community criteria.
· Support targeted outreach to organisations that demonstrate growth potential, financial resilience, and alignment with Somerset House’s charitable and diversity objectives.
· Participate in the assessment of workspace applications, ensuring prospective residents meet strategic criteria and contribute to the diversity and creative vibrancy of the community.
· Support wider sales initiatives across the department, helping to strengthen commercial performance and identify new opportunities.

· Use creative, cultural, and professional networks to help source potential residents and members who meet our commercial and community criteria.

· Support targeted outreach to organisations that demonstrate growth potential, financial resilience, and alignment with Somerset House’s charitable and diversity objectives.

Client Engagement

· Arrange and conduct workspace viewings, ensuring prospective residents understand contract terms, available services, and the unique benefits of joining the Somerset House community.

· Update agreed contract terms onto relevant platforms and databases.

· Provide timely and helpful follow-up communication to convert leads into residents.

Reporting

· Maintain a dashboard on the sales pipeline, regularly reporting data to support budget forecasting and marketing campaigns.

· Produce regular sales reports and forecasts for senior leadership and maintain accurate records.

Relationship Management

· Help build positive relationships with new and existing residents, supporting their integration into the community, identifying opportunities for mutual benefit and ensuring a positive experience.

· Work alongside the Residents Team members to understand and support residents’ changing space requirements.

· Contribute to the ongoing development of our workspace offer, ensuring it reflects Somerset House’s role as a home for cultural innovation, collaboration, and creative exchange.

Skills, knowledge & expertise required for the role:

·       Experience selling workspace and achieving sales targets, ideally within a creative community or similar workspace with creative businesses and freelancers
· Experience building and managing long-term relationships with clients, meeting customer needs and managing difficult conversations when needed
· Worked with membership contracts or leases/licences, with strong understanding of property terminology and legal documents
· Commercial awareness and ability to maximise revenue streams by identifying new business opportunities
· Self-motivated and targets driven
· Problem solving skills, with ability to identify and address issues before they arise
· Ability to meet deadlines and take personal ownership to achieve team goals

· Experience building and managing long-term relationships with clients, meeting customer needs and managing difficult conversations when needed
