Workshop Facilitator and Producer Recruitment pack OVERVIEW Reports to: Associate Director Salary: Hours: £28,750 per annum This is a 35-hour-a-week role worked over a variable schedule. This role requires regular weekend work, with expected working days Thursday to Sunday most weeks. Overtime is not paid but time off in lieu will be given. As a company we are engaging with a trial of a 4-day working week, this will shift regular working days to a 4 day week with no adjustment to offered salary. This role is based on-site at Little Angel Theatre and Little Angel Studios. However it does require significant offsite delivery. Holiday: 26 days per annum + bank holidays. As well as an internationally recognised theatre with productions touring throughout the UK and across the globe, Little Angel Theatre also has its roots in Islington and works with its local, diverse community to break down barriers to arts engagement so all can benefit and enjoy this remarkable art form “Although one of London’s smallest theatres, the Little Angel Theatre repeatedly punches above its weight” – The Offies 2023 CORE DUTIES The Role Little Angel Theatre is seeking an experienced workshop facilitator to lead a range of activities across its commercial portfolio. This role primarily deals with planning and running workshops for 0-11 year-olds in a variety of different settings, alongside professional development courses and classes for practitioner looking to grow their skills in puppetry or work in the TYA sector. The successful candidate would be joining an existing Workshop Facilitator and Producer, and supported by a variety of freelance staff. This role works closely alongside the Commercial Sales and Operations Manager to generate income for the theatre to support its charitable objectives. What you will do: Delivery: Create and lead a variety of outputs including: fun and interactive workshops for children and families, baby & toddler classes, adult learning courses, puppetry walk-abouts, children's activities, birthday parties, school craft workshops and workshops for university students. Enterprise: Develop new products, analyse and improve our systems, help market our products and develop new workshops for our audiences. Administration: Handle workshop bookings, write workshop copy, support annual planning including supporting the on-sale process, budget your workshops and manage freelance staff. PERSON SPECIFICATION The appropriate candidate will possess the following traits and skills: Essential: • Proven experience in arts education as a facilitator / workshop leader working with children and families. • An interest in performance and fostering creativity with children. • Puppetry performance or design skills. • Knowledge of working with children in a school setting. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Strong organisational and time management skills. • A good level of computer literacy, specifically knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). • An ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Adaptable and Flexible to a wide variety of work. • Commitment to Little Angel’s mission and values. • A reliable, responsible and professional demeanour. Desirable: In date first aid qualification. In date DBS. • Commercial knowledge of the arts education sector. • • • Experience working with children with additional needs. • Experience managing freelancers on short contracts. • Experience of workshop design and copy writing. • Experience in a sales environment.
