To lead on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of AFC Bournemouth Women’s goalkeepers within a high‑performance environment. The postholder will design and deliver an elite standard goalkeeping programme aligned with the club’s playing philosophy, the Head Coach’s game model, and WSL2 performance expectations. This role is pivotal within the football operations structure, contributing to the club’s strategic goals and on-pitch success.

Key Responsibilities
Goalkeeper Development & Coaching
- Plan, deliver and review all goalkeeper training sessions for the Women’s First Team.
- Design position-specific training that aligns with the Head Coach’s tactical approach and club playing philosophy.
- Provide technical, tactical and decision-making development for all senior goalkeepers.
- Deliver individual development plans (IDPs) with measurable outcomes.
- Analyse goalkeeper performance in training and matches, providing video, data and feedback.
- Support integration and progression of Academy/PGA goalkeepers where appropriate (aligned with WSL talent pathway expectations).
Match Preparation & Performance
- Lead goalkeeper-specific pre-match warm-ups and contribute to matchday technical preparation.
- Support opposition analysis with a focus on goalkeeper implications (e.g., pressing triggers, set pieces, restarts).
- Provide input into game plans and debriefs from a goalkeeper perspective.
Performance, Wellbeing & Compliance
- Work collaboratively within the MDT including sports science, medical, analysts and performance staff.
- Monitor physical and psychological wellbeing of goalkeepers, escalating concerns to medical or performance teams as required.
- Ensure all coaching delivery adheres to WSL performance support regulations, safeguarding standards, anti-doping compliance, and clean sport requirements.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date training plans, attendance, and IDP records for reporting into the Head Coach and Head of Women’s Football.
- Submit required information for WSL audits, compliance checks and staff documentation.
- Support recruitment processes for senior and Academy goalkeepers, including trial identification and feedback.

- Obligation to adhere to the club’s health and safety policy and procedures.
- Responsibility to comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and all related Company policies, taking reasonable care for their own safety and that of others, reporting hazards or incidents, following safe systems of work, and co-operating with all training and emergency procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence.
- UK Anti-Doping Introduction to Clean Sport certificate.
- Safeguarding and DBS clearance.
- Proven experience in a senior or assistant coaching role within women’s football.
- Strong tactical understanding and ability to communicate effectively with players and staff.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to AFC Bournemouth’s values, culture, and long-term vision.
- Familiarity with modern performance analysis tools and techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Strong media and public speaking skills.
