Vacancy: Women’s Support Worker

Hemat  Gryffe  Women’s  Aid  supports  women,  children  and  young  people  experiencing
domestic  abuse,  forced  marriage  and  honour-based  abuse  primarily  from  the  Asian,  Black
and  Minority  Ethnic  community.    We  provide  refuge  accommodation,  follow  on  and
outreach services for women and children.

We  have  a  vacant  post  for  a  women’s  worker  to  support  women  experiencing  domestic
abuse  or  who  have  experienced  domestic  abuse.    It  is  essential  that  you  have  knowledge
and understanding of the impact of domestic abuse upon women.

A  suitable  qualification  that  meets  the  needs  of  the  Scottish  Social  Servies  Council  (SSSC)
housing support registration is required otherwise training will be provided to allow you to
achieve this qualification.

The nature of our work requires a commitment to a feminist analysis of domestic abuse and
values of Hemat Gryffe Women’s Aid.

Application Notes
Salary: £30,557 PA, plus contributory pension.
Hours: 35 hours per week, exclusive of lunch breaks.
