Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 pro rata (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full time and part time positions available
Location: Gloucester Women’s Centre
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract
Pension: Auto Enrolment Pension (6% employer contribution)
Are you passionate about supporting women facing multiple disadvantages? The Nelson Trust is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Keyworker to join our Women’s Community Services team in Gloucester. You’ll provide practical and emotional support to women experiencing challenges such as homelessness, substance use, mental and physical illness, poverty, and violence or abuse. Your work will help raise self-esteem, build recovery capital, and empower women to make positive changes.
- Deliver one-to-one and group interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with voluntary, statutory, and criminal justice agencies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including health, psychological, and social needs.
- Develop and review gender-responsive support plans.
- Case manage and keywork assigned women.
- Advocate for women in multi-agency meetings and court settings.
- Provide outreach services and work from satellite bases as needed.
- Uphold safeguarding principles and confidentiality protocols.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of services at the Women’s Centre.
- Experience working with women with complex needs
- Ability to develop and deliver group programmes focused on emotional health, wellbeing, and relationships
- Awareness of trauma-informed and gender-specific approaches
- Strong safeguarding knowledge (children and adults) and experience working with mothers/families
- Non‑judgemental, respectful, and empathetic approach
- Ability to develop and deliver group programmes in emotional health, wellbeing, and relationships
- Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and work on own initiative
- Confident IT and administrative skills
- Strong teamworking and interpersonal skills
- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle and willingness to travel
- Knowledge of the benefits system, including housing support payments (desirable)
Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) as it involves access to vulnerable adults and/or children and successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced level Disclosure & Barring Service Check.
