This role will support participants to successfully participate in and complete the Impactful Parents programme. You will provide support to groups of parents (up to 15 parents in Q3 and 15 in Q4) to develop employability skills and achieve outcomes set by the funder.

  • Salary: £26,500 to £27,000 per annum (£8,480 – £8,640 pro rata for 12 hours per week)

Impactful Parents is a creative employability programme aimed at unemployed and economically inactive parents who live in the Scottish Borders. Through participating in the programme, the expectation is that the participants will develop employability skills and confidence to move on to a positive destination such as further training, education, volunteering or employment.

The project is delivered by a Creative Lead (CL) and a Wellbeing and Opportunities Worker (WOW), and the sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays, 10am-1pm, focus on using creative arts as a tool to build confidence and skills.
During the programme, participants will update their CV, practice interview skills and explore possible progressions, with the support of the WOW. They will also produce various artistic outputs that will be exhibited in a final showcase at the end of their programme.

Working hours: 12 hours per week, which breaks down as:

  • Mondays – 6 hours – 9:30am to 4pm with 30 min unpaid break for lunch
  • Tuesdays – 6 hours – 9:30am to 4pm with 30 min unpaid break for lunch
  • Workshop delivery times on the Monday and Tuesday are 10am to 1pm.

Based at: Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels between September – December 2026, then based in Eyemouth between January – March 2027 (exact venue TBC). Prep and admin time can be carried out from home.

Travel: Some travel to other locations in the Scottish Borders may be required from time to time, for events or networking. You may also be required to travel to other Impact Arts venues across Scotland for training and events

Interview dates: Interviews are expected to be held on Thursday 13th August and Monday 17th August.
Expected start date: Monday 7th September 2026 (training and induction day).
