About the role
We are looking for an experienced Welfare Rights Adviser to join our Help to Claim team, providing advice and support to clients on their entitlement to Universal Credit. You will support clients throughout the claims process, from making an initial claim through to receiving their first payment, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to manage their claim independently.
You will carry out benefit entitlement checks, identify any additional advice needs, and make appropriate referrals where issues fall outside the scope of the Help to Claim service. A key part of the role is ensuring clients receive accessible, responsive and high-quality advice through telephone and digital channels.
You will have experience of providing welfare rights advice to a wide range of clients, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes for their circumstances. You will be organised, able to work independently, and committed to delivering an excellent client service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, together with the ability to listen, engage and empathise with potentially vulnerable clients. A solution-focused approach, strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve wider organisational objectives are also essential.
