1. JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: Warehouse and Shop Coordinator

2. JOB PURPOSE
To coordinate the effective receipt, sorting and processing of donated goods at our Harbour Road Shop, ensuring donations are handled efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
The postholder will oversee the day-to-day flow and processing of donations, helping to maximise income and Gift Aid opportunities and ensuring stock is appropriately selected for sale, redistribution, recycling or disposal.
The role will provide day-to-day direction to staff and volunteers involved in donations processing and support the Missional Shop Manager with the effective running of the shop, including delegated duties in the Manager's absence.

5. MAIN TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the receipt, sorting and processing of high volumes of donations, maintaining an effective flow of goods and avoiding unnecessary backlogs.

Provide a professional, helpful and welcoming service to donors and customers.

Maximise Gift Aid opportunities, ensuring donations are processed correctly and Gift Aid procedures are followed.

Ensure free Christian literature is available and distributed appropriately at the donations point.

Select quality, saleable stock for Harbour Road Shop and identify suitable stock for redistribution to other Blythswood shops.

Ensure unsuitable stock is correctly sorted for recycling, rag or disposal, minimising waste wherever possible.

Coordinate and allocate the day-to-day work of staff and volunteers involved in donations and stock processing, under the guidance of the Missional Shop Manager.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the warehouse, yard, shop, loading and storage areas and car park.

Ensure the safe storage, handling and movement of donations and stock, complying with health and safety and manual handling requirements.

Prepare outgoing stock and recycling and liaise with Transport regarding collections, transfers, deliveries and the provision of trailers as required.

Ensure adequate supplies of boxes, pallets, cages, bags and other consumables are available for the effective processing of donations and stock.

Identify and report operational, maintenance, health and safety or staffing issues to the Missional Shop Manager.

Support the Missional Shop Manager with the day-to-day running of the shop, including assisting with customer service and providing till cover as required.

Undertake delegated duty management responsibilities in the Missional dealing with routine operational matters and escalating issues as appropriate.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
