Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Volunteering Support Assistant.
This role will be the first point of contact for volunteering enquiries, providing excellent support and helping volunteers feel valued and engaged. You'll maintain volunteer records, support recruitment, training and events, and deliver clear, timely communications to volunteers and volunteer managers across the Trust.
Providing a professional, friendly and responsive support service for volunteers, you will ensure enquiries, feedback and concerns are handled effectively and in line with organisational policies. You’ll help coordinate volunteer recruitment, retention and engagement activities, including training sessions, events and celebrations, while supporting the management of volunteer data and systems to ensure records are accurate, secure and compliant. Working closely with colleagues across the Trust, you’ll create engaging communications that enhance the volunteer experience, support administration volunteers in their roles, and contribute to projects and initiatives that strengthen and develop volunteering across Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering excellent supporter or customer service, providing effective administrative support, and working collaboratively across teams. You will be confident managing data accurately and securely and working within a busy office environment, including with remote colleagues.
You will have a good understanding of data protection and be confident using Microsoft Office, databases and digital communication platforms. Strong communication, organisation and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. An interest in wildlife, conservation and environmental issues is desirable.
