Volunteering Operations Executive

£26,000 – £28,000 per annum pro rata plus benefits

Reports to: Volunteering Operations Manager

Directorate: Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part time 14 hours per week (job share)

Working pattern: Mondays & Tuesdays, with occasional ad hoc flexibility for meetings and cover

Location: Home-based in England with regular national travel (team meetings/away days)

We are looking for an inspiring Volunteering Operations Executive who will be joining the Volunteering Team at an exciting time as we deliver a charity-wide strategy to improve volunteer experience. Providing meaningful and rewarding ways for everyone to use their time to make a difference in our mission to beat cancer.

This role will support with implementation of all identified systems and processes related to the Volunteer proposition, supporting the delivery of the shared, audience-led vision, ensuring commercial value.

You will also be supporting with delivering operational excellence for the Volunteer proposition through robust processes and system knowledge.

What will I be doing?

  • Manage internal enquires from CRUK staff and external enquiries from prospective volunteers about Volunteering, providing expert advice across a wide range of relevant subject matter.

  • Manage and deliver key processes including volunteer application, record management and project-specific processes.

  • Collate insight gathered as required by team and identify themes to provide direction for the work of the team.

  • Responsible for keep the Volunteer Proposition Team SharePoint up to date, collating regular team updates and supporting on the organisation, administration and delivery of meeting and events.

  • Adhere to Volunteering legislation and CRUK policies and procedures.

  • Ensure EDI is celebrated and considered across the breadth of our work

  • Undertake other tasks as necessary to contribute to the volunteering strategy and objectives and those of Cancer Research UK.

Eligibility criteria

Internal candidates should ideally have completed their 6-month ‘getting started’ period before applying for other roles. You should also advise your current line manager at the point you make an internal application, or at the latest, at the point of being invited for an interview.
 

All internal candidates applying for a secondment, must have:

  • completed their getting started period

  • discussed their intention to apply and gained approval to apply with their line manager

  • been in their substantive (home) role for at least 6 months (this is only applicable if you have previously been on secondment)
