Volunteering Engagement Administrator
Our charity was founded by local people coming together to bring hospice care to patients and families in our community. Today, volunteers from towns and villages across Buckinghamshire and its surrounding areas continue to play a vital role, helping us be there for our patients when they need us most.
We have over 1,100 dedicated volunteers supporting a wide range of roles across the organisation — from our retail shops and hospices to back-office functions, community support, and fundraising events.
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Volunteering Engagement Team, supporting our incredible volunteers who contribute to our fundraising initiatives. This role is key to ensuring our volunteers feel valued, supported, and inspired as they help us make a meaningful difference in our community.
What will I be doing?
You’ll be a part of the Volunteering Engagement Team, working collaboratively with the Fundraising Team to support the retention and engagement of fundraising volunteers.
The Volunteering Engagement Team has a clear focus to ensure that FNHC is a happy and productive environment for volunteers to give their time, and to support the staff who work or manage volunteers to do the same.
You will be responsible for:
- Actively recruiting new fundraising volunteers.
- Providing administrative support for the Volunteering Engagement Team to in relation to Fundraising and Event Volunteers and the associated processes.
- To be one of the main points of contact for volunteers supporting Fundraising events.
- Work closely with the Fundraising team to understand volunteer needs and requirements and tasks for mass participation, community and in memory events
- Ensure that volunteers receive any required training prior to an event and any equipment or uniform.
- Thank and collate feedback from volunteers post events.
About You
- Has excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with volunteers and staff, including written and verbal communication skills and must be very comfortable talking on the phone.
- Has strong administrative and organisational skills to accurately maintain volunteer documentation and records on our database.
- Has experience of working in with volunteers and in fundraising.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and has experience of using databases.
- Is hugely enthusiastic about volunteers and the positive impact that working with volunteers has for the organisation.
- Can work in a non-judgemental way with people of all abilities and backgrounds.
