Peterborough United are seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach Intern for the upcoming 2026-27 season within the Women’s First Team. The role is an expense paid, voluntary role, in which a suitable candidate will gain valuable experience working within a professional football club environment, working with elite Women’s National League players and staff, in delivering strength and conditioning for players and staff.
Competing in the Women’s National League Premier Division (3rd tier) following promotion in April 2026, Peterborough United Women operate as a Semi Professional provision with three contact sessions with players each week, including 2x pitch sessions, 1x classroom session and 1x structured gym session.
Required Commitments:
- The candidate must be available for one evening training session per week (Tuesday or Wednesday evening) and Sunday match days in the Women’s National League Premier North
- Candidates must provide their own transport to Peterborough United
- The candidate must have strong communication skills and meet weekly deadlines set by coaching staff.
- The primary role will include delivery of pitch based sessions, once per week, as well as activation warm ups on both training and match days
- The secondary role will be supporting the players in remote delivery of their player specific gym programmes – available to communicate with players remotely through our communications app as well as supporting in the planning of the players training programmes
- Supporting the planning of pre season and in season plans using GPS physical data
Experience and Qualifications
- This role is suitable for Strength and Conditioning Masters students or Sports Science graduates with practical experience working in performance sports environments or football
- This role is an expenses paid internshipand students travel time and expenses will be covered.
- Typical expenses covered are fuel costs, travel costs and any additional costs involved in the role
