Wolves Lane Centre is recruiting a Volunteer Manager to build, steer and shape our volunteer programme at a pivotal moment for the site. This role sits at the heart of Wolves Lane Centre. It is about designing a volunteering offer that is meaningful, well-structured and deeply rooted in the communities we serve. In particular, the Volunteer Manager will play a key role in supporting access to land, skills and opportunities for people from Black, Brown and other minoritised backgrounds who are often excluded from environmental and land-based work.

Volunteering at Wolves Lane is not an add-on. It is central to how the site functions and how people build relationships with land, food and one another. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for shaping clear volunteer pathways, setting expectations, supporting volunteers well, and working closely with growers, facilitators and partners to ensure volunteering is embedded across the site in a way that feels purposeful and cared for.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both people and systems: someone who can hold the balance between community care and the practical realities of a busy, working site. You will be trusted to develop the programme over time, respond to feedback, and help create an environment where volunteers feel welcomed, valued and confident in their contribution.
