Volunteer Gardeners at Henry Moore Studios and Gardens April 2022
HENRY MOORE FOUNDATION
Our dedicated team of Volunteer Gardeners helps maintain the sculpture gardens at Henry Moore Studios and Gardens. The
gardens were designed by Moore and his wife Irina. They are predominantly rural in appearance and comprise approximately 70 acres of ponds, hedgerows, orchards, sheep fields, woodlands, lawns and a small kitchen garden. Maintaining such a diverse area offers a variety of challenges for our small team of garden staff and volunteers.
Garden volunteers can choose to work on specific projects or across the estate. The time commitment is flexible to accommodate your availability; you can volunteer on any weekday (Monday to Friday) so that our Gardeners are on hand to support you. No experience is required and specific training will be provided. Travel expenses are paid at 45p per mile, and tea and coffee are provided. We also arrange occasional social events.
We ask our volunteers to be reliable and punctual and to make a commitment for a fixed term (usually one season at a time). If you would like to learn more about joining our team, please e-mail: recruitment@henrymoore.org to receive an application form.
Please note that all volunteers are required to attend an informal interview to discuss their suitability for the role.
