Volunteer Cornwall is a county-wide organisation that supports the development of individuals and communities through voluntary action.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the organisation for the following position:

Volunteer Coordinator

2x North & 1x Mid Cornwall

This is a full-time post for 37½ hours per week

Attracting a salary of £28,598 plus £600 Essential Travel Allowance per annum

The post is offered on a permanent contract

At Volunteer Cornwall, we are growing our team, and we are looking for a passionate, people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to help us connect communities and be part of something meaningful across the county.

You will be working alongside a brilliant and expanding team, helping to shape the future of volunteering in Cornwall.

What You will Be Doing

At the heart of this role is people - volunteers, local communities, partner organisations, and the individuals whose lives you will directly improve. Day to day, you will be:

  • Recruiting, supporting, and deploying volunteersacross Cornwall, including those delivering vital home-based prevention and reablement support to people who need it most.
  • Building strong relationshipswith the Community Gateway and Hub Network and voluntary sector partners to deliver joined-up, effective services.
  • Championing volunteering- promoting opportunities through social media, printed materials, and in-person engagement with communities, health professionals, and commissioners.
  • Supporting volunteers every step of the way- providing pastoral care, connecting them with opportunities, and listening to their experiences to improve services.
  • Working with local businessesto develop employer-supported volunteering programmes that benefit both staff and the wider community.
  • Opening doors for everyone- creating inclusive volunteering opportunities and actively promoting youth volunteering across Cornwall.

What We Are Looking For

While we encourage applicants who meet all the listed criteria to apply, we will also consider candidates who demonstrate the right qualities and potential, even if they do not fulfil every requirement:

  • Have experience working with volunteers or in a community-facing role.
  • Are a confident communicator who can build trust with a wide range of people.
  • Are organised and comfortable managing databases and reporting systems.
  • Have a genuine passion for making a positive impact in people's lives.
  • Are a team player who is also comfortable working independently.
  • Hold a valid driving licence as some travel is expected.

Working from our Truro office and remotely, the successful applicant should have excellent organisational and communication skills and be experienced in working with individuals, organisations, and communities.
