The role
The Volunteer Co-ordinator plays a key role in developing and supporting Family Fund’s Volunteering programme.
In this role, you will contribute to facilitating volunteer recruitment from identifying recruitment opportunities to onboarding volunteers, matching volunteers to suitable opportunities, and ongoing volunteer support. You will be an ongoing key point of contact for volunteers and volunteer managers, including provision of induction and light touch training.
You will manage key relationships with recruitment centres and universities, support the promotion of volunteer recruitment using external contacts and platforms, as well as working closely with our communications team to agree social media posts and other communications content to raise the profile of volunteering within the organisation. You will support ensuring provision of inclusive volunteering opportunities and work closely with internal stakeholders to maximise corporate and skills-based volunteering opportunities to meet the needs of the charity.
About you
For this role you must have experience of recruiting and managing volunteers, even at small scale, with an excellent understanding of volunteering policies and inclusive recruitment and support practices.
To be successful in this role you will need to be highly organised, with an ability to manage a varied workload with various deadlines. You will be a strong communicator, with excellent digital skills including social media and email.
To be successful in this role you will be able to inspire and motivate others. You will have great interpersonal and networking skills, and an understanding of the barriers to volunteering and steps that can be taken to address these.
Finally, you will need to have good computer literacy skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications, and knowledge or CRM systems.
