  • Bede’s is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Bass Guitar to join our excellent team of visiting music teachers from September 2026. You will be stepping into a busy, thriving, and highly ambitious Music Department that prizes both technical excellence and a genuine love for performance.

    We are looking for a specialist who can bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional-level performance, ensuring our pupils are equipped for everything from school productions to conservatoire auditions.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Expert Tuition: Deliver high-quality 1:1 bass guitar lessons to pupils across the 13–18 age range.

    • Stylistic Breadth: Provide instruction across a diverse range of musical styles, ensuring pupils are well-rounded and versatile musicians.

    • Performance Coaching: Prepare and coach pupils for school productions, musical theatre opportunities, and external performing engagements.

    • Audition Prep: Mentor senior pupils through the process of preparing for university and conservatoire auditions.

    • Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Music and Performing Arts Administrators to manage weekly timetabling and contribute to the wider musical life of the school.

    Person Specification

    The successful candidate will be a first-rate performer who possesses the pedagogical skill to inspire high-achieving pupils.

    • A passion for music education and the ability to motivate pupils of all abilities.

    • Highly organised, with the ability to manage a busy visiting teacher schedule.

    • Adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting school productions and ensembles.

    The successful applicant will be offered a casual contract from September 2026, the normal hours of work will vary from term to term.
