VENUE OPERATIONS TEAM LEADER (TEVIOT) - GUARANTEED HOURS POSITION
Edinburgh University Students' Association is looking to recruit a Venue Operations Team Leader to join our Trading Operations team in Teviot.
Edinburgh University Students’ Association is an award-winning organisation, which exists to provide diverse services, representation, and welfare support to the community of over 49,500 students at the University of Edinburgh. By providing opportunities, helping to create change and offering support, we're here to help students get the most out of their time in Edinburgh. We have five venues around the University of Edinburgh campus – Teviot, King’s Buildings House, Potterrow, the Pleasance and Edinburgh College of Art’s Wee Red Bar – which house our offices, cafés, bars, clubs, spaces for students to meet, study and socialise. These spaces transform into some of the most well loved Edinburgh Festival Fringe venues throughout the month of August each year.
We are a registered charity and all of the income we generate from our commercial activity goes back in to supporting our members. We’re also an organisation with a strategic commitment to support and empower all our staff, and have some exciting plans for the future. Plus, over 90% of our staff would recommend the Students' Association as a place to work. There's never been a better time to apply and join our organisation.
We are an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. Edinburgh University Students’ Association is committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment and encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
We are currently on the hunt for an enthusiastic Venue Operations Team Leader to join our dynamic team at Teviot.
This is a particularly exciting time to join us, as this historic venue (the world's oldest purpose built student union!) has been undergoing extensive remodelling and refurbishment for the last 2.5 years, and is now starting the next chapter of the building’s long history.
Being a Team Leader for us will see you join a large trading operations team who come together to provide excellent customers service across a diverse range of food and beverage outlets and student spaces. With a packed programme of events such as open mic or quiz nights, to student society events, meetings, conferences and being a key venue within the Edinburgh Fringe with our theatre partners, Gilded Balloon - you’ll be hard pushed to find a dull day within this building!
The role is predominantly Venue Operations focused, supervising the dedicated team of staff that run our facilities whilst also being an active part of service - doing regular building and toilet checks, helping to set up for events and managing refuse among other integral jobs around the building. We are seeking an individual with a passion for hospitality who is looking for the next step in their career in an environment that is equal parts challenging and rewarding.
You will receive a training schedule commencing before our grand opening to ensure you are in the best position to hit the ground running once we open the doors.
Salary: £13.10 per hour, plus a generous benefits package:
- 35 days per year holiday entitlement
- Company pension with NEST
