Union Team Member (Support Roles)

Location: Staffordshire Students' Union, Stoke-on-Trent

Hourly Rate: Starting at £12.75 per hour + 12.7% holiday pay

Hours: Flexible, up to 32 hours per fortnight

As a Union Team Member in one of our support roles, you’ll play an important part in making that happen - helping students access services, supporting activities, and contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment across the Students’ Union.

🌟About the role

These are varied, people-focused roles supporting key areas of the Students’ Union. You’ll work closely with one or more teams, including:

  • Student Engagement Team– supporting clubs, societies and student volunteers
  • Information Team– providing a first point of contact for student enquiries
  • Lettings Team– supporting accommodation viewings and booking processes

You could find yourself:

  • Welcoming students and responding to enquiries in person, by email or over the phone
  • Supporting student groups, activities and events
  • Assisting with administrative and organisational tasks
  • Helping to coordinate bookings, spaces and resources
  • Working with staff and student leaders to make sure activities run smoothly

  • daytime and early evening, with occasional flexibility required during busy periods
  • You’ll work with a wide range of people, including students, staff and volunteers
  • You’ll need to balance organisation, communication and problem-solving
  • You may be managing multiple requests or tasks at the same time

🌟What we’re looking for

We’re looking for students who are:

  • Organised and able to manage administrative tasks effectively
  • Comfortable handling enquiries and supporting others
  • Confident communicating in person, by email and over the phone
  • Able to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed

Experience is helpful, but not essential - we’re interested in your attitude, skills and potential.

  • Mandatory Induction training will take place on Friday 11th Septemberwith shifts commencing shortly afterwards.
