As part of our continued growth, Ansvar Australia is looking for Underwriters to join our Underwriting and Distribution team.

This role is critical in supporting our growth strategy by bringing technical underwriting capability, a customer‑focused mindset and a collaborative approach to broker and stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for underwriting new business and renewal policies, schemes and endorsements across a regional portfolio by applying sound judgement and strong underwriting discipline.

What you'll be doing

• Own your portfolio by underwriting new business, renewals, schemes and endorsements, using sound judgement and delegated authority

• Contribute directly to Regional growth and profitability through disciplined underwriting, proactive portfolio management and strong broker relationships

• Be a trusted underwriting partner for brokers and clients, acting as a key point of contact for enquiries and solutions

• Build and nurture strong relationships with brokers, distribution partners and internal stakeholders across the business

• Identify opportunities to grow value through effective cross‑sell and up‑sell activity within the portfolio

What you'll need to have

You’ll be well suited to this role if you:

• Have solid underwriting experience within general insurance, ideally commercial lines

• Are confident underwriting commercial risks within delegated authority

• Have experience working directly with brokers and clients

• Bring strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills

• Are motivated by contributing to profitable growth while maintaining underwriting discipline

• Share a genuine interest in working with purpose‑driven sectors
