Tutor- Barnet

Our Supported Internship team in Barnet is growing, and we’re looking for creative, dedicated Tutors to join us. We have a part-time (22.5 hrs / 3 days) role available.
About the Programme
Our Supported Internships combine high-quality teaching with real-life work experience, helping young people build confidence, independence and lasting employability skills.
As a Tutor, you will:

Teach Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.

Deliver creative lessons in employability and workplace skills.

Support learners both in the classroom and in their work placements.

Help young people move into paid, sustainable employment.

What you will bring to the Tutor role at Mencap:

Experience supporting SEND learners in a teaching or training environment.

Experience delivering and assessing Functional Skills English & Maths.

Strong planning, organisation and classroom management abilities.
-
Minimum Level 3 Award in Education (or equivalent), with willingness to progress to Level 5.

GCSE English and Maths (A–C / 9–4 or equivalent).

The recruitment process if successful at application, will involve a two-stage interview process. A competency based interview will be the first stage and delivering a micro-teach will be the format for the second interview.
Salary: £31,319 to £33,824 pro rata (dependent on qualifications).
