Active Fusion Trustee Application Pack 2026-2027About the Role Active Fusion is seeking a committed and passionate Trustee withFundraising expertise to help shape our strategy, strengthen income generation,and ensure we continue empowering children and young people through thepower of sport and physical activity. As a charity dedicated to helping young people become the best version ofthemselves through sport and physical activity, we’re growing, evolving, andincreasing our impact. To support our next chapter, we need an experiencedfundraiser who can help us strengthen our income, unlock new opportunities,and champion our mission. Main Duties of a Charity Trustee (Generic Responsibilities) All trustees share collective responsibility for: Setting the charity’s strategic direction and ensuring activities align with ourmission and values. Ensuring good governance, legal compliance, and effective risk management. Overseeing financial health, approving budgets, and monitoring performance. Acting as an ambassador for Active Fusion, championing our work externally. Supporting and constructively challenging the CEO and leadership team. Ensuring accountability, transparency, and strong safeguarding practices. Role-Specific Responsibilities – Fundraising Lead In addition to the above, the Fundraising Lead will: Provide expert insight into fundraising strategy, trends, and opportunities. Support the development of diverse and sustainable income streams (trusts,grants, corporates, partnerships, events, individual giving). Offer guidance on funding bids, donor stewardship, and relationship building. Help strengthen organisational storytelling and case for support materials. Champion fundraising across the board, ensuring it’s embedded ingovernance, culture, and strategy. Open networks where appropriate and act as a catalyst for new relationships. Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For Proven experience in fundraising, business development, or incomegeneration. Strategic thinker with the ability to balance ambition with good governance. Strong relationship-builder with confidence engaging partners andsupporters. Passion for improving the lives of children and young people. Integrity, independence of thought, and commitment to our values. Willingness to advocate, influence, and champion Active Fusion externally. Ability to support and challenge constructively as part of a collaborativeboard.
