To be a Trustee at Campden Home Nursing
At Campden Home Nursing, we must follow the rules, standards and guidelines of the Charity Commission, and the people who ensure we abide by these directions are the appointed Trustees. They provide the Charity with direction, oversight and governance.
There are nine trustees at Campden Home Nursing, all local to Chipping Campden and the surrounding area. Some of our Trustees have been with us many years and knew Jecca Brook, who founded Campden Home Nursing, personally and were good friends with her.
Each of our Trustees brings a specialist knowledge and capability to the oversight of the Charity from a broad spectrum of current and former professions – Accountants, GPs, Nurses, Retail and HR specialists, Governance and Company Secretary management and NHS Primary Care. They challenge and hold to account the decisions that are made at the Charity, just as any non-executive Director of a company would. Like our volunteers, they give freely of their time and support some of our more important fundraising activities. Several of our Trustees play key roles in other charities and organisations in Chipping Campden and are woven into the fabric of the daily life of the town and community.
Our current co-chairs say, “We have served as co-chairs for Campden Home Nursing for many years and have seen it evolve from humble beginnings into a large and wonderful force for good. Not only do we support people to spend their last days in their own homes, but we also provide counselling support to surviving family members -adults and children. Jecca’s House has also developed into a centre for all members of the community. We are very proud to have served the community and overseen the Charity for so many years.”
Our chairs, Sarah, an experienced finance director and accountant, and Irene, a retired local GP partner, will step down in summer 2027. This Autumn, we will recruit two new trustees: a Treasurer Trustee and a Trustee with medical experience-ideally a current or retired doctor.
