Nominations are now open for the role of Trustee of IOM3 and Chair of its Professional Standards & Development Board (PSDB).
This role is the lead Active Supporter and Volunteer (ASV) for all licenced activity by IOM3, and for the IOM3 Code of Professional Conduct and Disciplinary and Appeals Procedure.
The Chair is also one of the IOM3 Trustees, and sits, along with around a dozen others, on the Executive Board. We are therefore looking for someone with suitable seniority in their area of professional competence, with a strong passion for the Institute’s charitable purpose and its members, demonstrated consistently over time. A track record of leading groups of volunteers would also be welcome. We are particularly keen to improve the diversity of our volunteer cadre.
Nominees must hold the Fellow (FIMMM) membership grade in addition to being a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered through IOM3 and have held both credentials for at least six years. Being registered as a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and/or Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) would be an advantage but not essential. Nominees must hold current IOM3 licenced activity assessor certification and have at least six years’ current experience as a Professional Review Interviewer or as an accreditation assessor and have been active on the PSDB or one of its Committees.
Nomination is by submission of:
- a CV
- a statement of what you propose to do as Chair of the Professional Standards & Development Board, including what you plan to do to maintain professional standards and to improve equality, diversity and inclusion in this role
- A supporting statement from another voting (corporate) member of IOM3
These should reach Anita Horton anita.horton@iom3.org by 0800 on 30 September 2026. Please also contact Anita if you would like to arrange an informal discussion about the role with the outgoing Chair, or our current CEO or President.
