Job Title: Trust Fundraiser Salary Range: £35,000 TO £40,000 1. Job Summary The Trusts Fundraiser plays a pivotal role in securing voluntary income for Kisharon Langdon by managing a portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations to achieve agreed income targets and support the organisation’s strategic goals. The role involves developing and delivering a robust grant funding pipeline, underpinned by thorough prospect research and clear planning, to ensure sustainable and long-term income growth. The post-holder will build a strong understanding of each funder’s priorities and criteria, creating tailored strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward support. Alongside managing existing relationships, they will proactively identify and engage prospective funders, contributing to excellent relationship management across the trust and foundation portfolio. Working collaboratively across teams, the Trusts Fundraiser will gather compelling evidence and impact data to craft persuasive funding applications and high-quality reports. Through collaborative working and the sharing of best practice, the role will help drive improvements in application success rates. The post-holder will maintain accurate records on the database, track activity and monitor performance against objectives, ensuring alignment with the wider fundraising and organisational strategy. 2. Key Tasks Manage a portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations through a journey of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to secure 4, 5 and 6-figure grants, which meet personal and departmental income targets. Identify and research prospective new funders and develop appropriate strategies to engage and cultivate them to ensure a healthy donor pipeline. Build relationships internally to understand all voluntary funded services and work with colleagues to provide compelling stories and data to funders, especially on outcomes and impact. Use the Raiser’s Edge database to monitor performance and maintain accurate, up-to-date records. 3. Operational Tasks Develop a funding pipeline, working with colleagues to identify and prioritise funding needs. Work closely with the relevant technical leads to gain required information for funding proposals. Make high quality funding applications and write project reports within donors’ deadlines to achieve income targets each year according to the organisational budget. Manage the progress of bids from conception to completion alongside project managers. Ensure that projects include core organisational expenditure costs as far as possible. Monitor restricted funds, to ensure that items within budgets are not double-funded. Prepare and update detailed research on trusts, foundations and other grant making bodies. Develop, manage and review small trusts mailing together with the Trusts Fundraising Manager. Page 1 of 4 4. Grant management Ensure that all donations and grants are properly logged on the database and acknowledged in a timely fashion. Use our CRM system expertly to plan and deliver funder communications and relationship management. Contribute to driving improvements in application success rate through collaborative working and sharing of best practice. 5. Relationship building and communication Nurture good relationships with existing and prospective donors, developing stewardship programmes, with the support of the wider fundraising team. This will include showcasing Kisharon Langdon’s work to existing and prospective funders and clearly conveying its impact. Work with internal staff, including Directors and Managers, to inform them of new funding opportunities and to obtain compelling stories and data for bids and reports. Network across the organisation to build personal profile internally and stay informed about organisational developments and be a key point of contact for funder opportunities. Collaborate with other members of the Fundraising team on joint approaches, sharing knowledge and resources, and proactively contributing to fundraising team meetings. 6. Finance Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure that all trust pledges and ongoing annual awards are received and recorded with the appropriate project funding restrictions where appropriate. Be accountable for personal income performance, monitoring it regularly and reporting in a timely manner as required, and highlighting any problems or issues at the earliest possible opportunity. Learn about the organisation, and departmental income and expenditure figures, and the funding needs that arise from them, to be aware of the “big picture” financially. 7. General Support all colleagues within the fundraising team and undertake any other reasonable duties and activities as requested by the Director of Fundraising. Capitalise on the goodwill that exists in the community for Kisharon Langdon by being a positive ambassador for the charity. Undertake training and attend courses as appropriate. This crucial role involves an expectation that the post holder will occasionally work outside normal office hours to attend events and funder meetings. The Fundraising Department is based at Kisharon Langdon’s Head Office, but attendance at events and meetings at other Kisharon Langdon sites or other venues is taken to be part of the role. Kisharon Langdon works largely, though not exclusively, with members of the orthodox Jewish community and the post holder must understand and respect their beliefs and requirements as well as those of the wider Jewish and mainstream communities. Operate within Charity Law and Data Protection legislation and adhere to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice. PERSON SPECIFICATION Trust Fundraiser Essential Desirable Qualifications Educated to GCSE level or Educated to degree level Knowledge & Experience higher Minimum 3 years proven successful experience in applications to charitable trusts and foundations. An ability to write engaging and persuasive funding applications and proposals to the highest standard. Strong IT skills including sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems. Sound knowledge of Charity Law and Data Protection legislation and the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT Page 3 of 4 Experience of using a database or CRM system to record and track donor / customer / client interactions.
