Job description

Early Years Wales are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Training and People Development Support Officer to provide support for all Early Years Wales' training, learning and development outputs.

This is a maternity cover position for one year.

Purpose of Role:

  • Support the planning and implementation of a cohesive programme of learning and resources to support early years practice.
  • Support the delivery of the Physical Literacy suite of training, along with any additional training as required.

Main duties:

  • Support the development, design and implementation of a learning/training programme to meet the needs of the Early Years workforce.
  • Identify current and future learning needs within the Early Years workforce by sending out and collating data for a yearly training needs analysis.
  • Support delivery of Physical Literacy training courses and any other training courses as required.
  • Training communication – responsible for sending out initial links, reminders, evaluations, certificates and resources for all learning/training.
  • Support the creation of and share impact case studies, course evaluations and feedback to Early Years Wales staff and wider external audience.
  • Source venues, costings and booking for delivery of training and meetings.
  • Support the marketing and branding of training through social media channels.
  • Support the development of online training opportunities.
  • Work with the administration team to set up, monitor and evaluate booking systems.
  • Where needed, provide communication support and uploading of resources to HWB and Early Years Wales website for the Foundation Learning and Welsh Language team.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Physical literacy and parenting web pages.
  • Contribute to training and learning blogs/Smalltalk and roadshows.
  • Support visits for physical literacy work.
  • Develop training resources/apps and parental communication strategies.
  • Promote membership through professional networks including individual, student and commercial/professional networks.
  • Target new membership areas including (but not limited to) schools, parents and public health.

Person specification:

Experience:

Desirable:

  • Experience in producing training resources, evaluation reports, and impact case studies.
  • Experience in organising events, including sourcing venues, managing bookings, and handling costings.
  • Experience in using digital platforms for communication, training delivery, and resource sharing (e.g., Learning Management Systems, social media, websites).
  • Experience of supporting marketing, communications, and engagement with professional networks.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with administration and wider teams to set up, monitor, and evaluate systems.

Qualifications

Essential: 

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grade C or above.

Desirable:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Years Education Training, or a related field is desirable (e.g., Level 3 or above in Early Years, Teaching, or Learning and Development).
  • Training or professional development in learning needs analysis, training delivery, or digital learning platforms is desirable.

Salary: £27,055.91 rising to £28,175.24
