Job Description:
Vincent Dance Theatre (VDT) is inviting Expressions of Interest for a new Traineeship in Socially Engaged Movement Practice. This training and mentoring opportunity is designed for an early career dance practitioner interested in facilitation and creating socially engaged performance work with young people and women at risk. The successful trainee will shadow and support VDT’s Artistic Director and Participation Producer across two community-based initiatives in East Brighton. These include a Dance & Performance Programme of Free, Inclusive Movement Sessions for Young People at Moulsecoomb Hall and an ongoing Creative Health Project, Art of Recovery, with women and community partners across the city. The traineeship offers hands-on experience in facilitation, socially engaged practice and community collaboration, alongside mentoring from Artistic Director Charlotte Vincent and the wider VDT team.
