Trainee Kids & Youth Workers

Are you passionate about children and young people encountering the love of Father God, journeying with Jesus, and being filled with the Holy Spirit?

Do you feel called to kids or youth ministry and want to be trained and equipped?

At Chanctonbury Church we have a vision to raise young people who know God personally and live lives transformed by Him. We are passionate about training and releasing a new generation of kids and youth workers to do this.

Chanctonbury Church is a vibrant, Spiritfilled, Bible-believing, Anglican church in the heart of the South Downs. We carry one mission: glorifying God, becoming like Jesus, and awakening the nations. We value making space for the presence of God and helping people meet with Him.

We are looking for Trainee Kids and Trainee Youth Workers to join our team. With around 65 children (0–11s) and 50 youth, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn practical ministry skills and grow in your calling and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

KIDS

We are passionate about seeing children encounter God personally by creating places where kids feel safe, seen, and excited to meet together.

We love teaming up with parents, cheering them on as they all grow together in faith.

help continue to grow Kids Church on a Sunday, leading and planning sessions,

be actively involved with leading and planning midweek groups and wider church events,

to serve and minister in the 2 local CofE schools, including assemblies, prayer space.

grow in experience, knowledge and insight around spirit-filled and led kids ministry

to grow in relationship with the children, parents and team, assisting in any pastoral and prayer needs.

YOUTH

We want all young people to know how loved they are by their Heavenly Father, to encounter and be led by the Holy Spirit and to build their lives upon the rock of Jesus’s teachings.

To prepare, serve and lead in Sunday Youth

• committed to sowing into a midweek group and key youth events during the week

To join the Chaplaincy Team in our local CofE Grammar School

To mentor and support the next generation through the big questions of life

To attend and lead in our Large-scale events locally and regionally

• To develop and grow in personal leadership and relationships with parents, team and young people.

Training/Study

As part of this role, you will gain ministry experience, be an active part of a staff team and be supported in your personal spiritual growth.

Alongside this, you will be working towards gaining a diploma in Kids/Youth work at St Mellitus, London.

You will need to apply for this course independently.

Role Details:

Reports to: Head of Kids / Head of Youth Days/Hours: 15 hours (+15 hours study) Salary: 15 hrs at National Living Wage DBS: An enhanced DBS is required for the role

There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010
