Job description:

This new role will actively engage with students and young adults, build meaningful connections between the church and local community, and cultivate two new worshipping communities.

Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Identify and prioritise the needs of the local community.
    • Develop a strategic plan for engaging with the town centre community, including daytime shoppers, further education students and night-time economy patrons and workers.
    • Establish and pioneer effective, sustainable initiatives in the town centre that draw people into personal discipleship and regular worship
    • Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist in community outreach ministry and the establishment of NWCs
    • Forge partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and educational institutions to facilitate mission and outreach activities
    • Collaborate closely with Stourbridge Street Pastors to coordinate spiritual and pastoral outreach efforts during night-time hours
    • Launch two new worshipping communities: one targeting further education students during the daytime and one engaging with the night-time economy in the evening
    • Participate in diocesan or deanery-led initiatives for sharing knowledge, opportunities, and project funding
    • Develop accessible initiatives to deepen relationships with individuals encountered through street outreach and community engagement activities
    • Work collaboratively with the wider church leadership team to ensure alignment with the overall mission and vision of the renewal project
