Ormiston Families’ Supporting Smiles Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service is excited to invite applications from Therapeutic Practitioners looking to further their career. We welcome applications from both qualified therapists and those approaching professional accreditation who are looking to begin their therapeutic career within a supportive and developing service.
Our Supporting Smiles service provides professional mental health support to children and young people through our Therapeutic Pathway for 4–13-year-olds and our Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner service for 5–18-year-olds. Whether children and young people live in Norfolk or Waveney, or are registered with a Norfolk or Waveney GP, we provide evidence-based therapeutic support tailored to their individual needs.
At Supporting Smiles, we believe in a needs-led approach, and our service name was co-created with the children, young people and families we support. Our multidisciplinary team includes Therapeutic Practitioners, Counsellors and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, working together to deliver high-quality mental health support across Norfolk and Waveney.
Therapeutic support is delivered in a range of community settings, including schools, family hubs and community venues, ensuring services are accessible and responsive to the needs of children, young people and families.
As a member of Norfolk & Waveney’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health Alliance, we work alongside partners including The Benjamin Foundation, Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk County Council and Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust to deliver integrated, THRIVE-informed support across the Getting Advice, Getting Help, Getting More Help and Risk Support pathways.
This is an exciting time to join Supporting Smiles as we continue to develop and strengthen our service. Successful applicants will be appointed at the appropriate level based on their qualifications, professional accreditation, knowledge, skills and experience. Those who are approaching professional accreditation will receive appropriate supervision, support and development to help them progress in their career.
