A performing arts school based in Motherwell providing acting & musical theatre classes

for children age 3+ is looking to recruit a Theatre School Studio & Operations Assistant.

They are hiring a studio & operations assistant to work alongside the current self-employed team, managing emails, phone calls and online bookings with the potential to be trained up as a teacher of performing arts.

Availability evening & weekends is essential, the hours will be split over 4 evenings & also a Saturday morning shift.

Hourly rate for the role is £14.00

Key Duties and Responsibilities :

Administration

• Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including emails, class bookings, and enquiries

• Maintain accurate records of student information.

• Assist with communications to parents and guardians via email and social media

• Support the preparation of schedules, timetables, and class materials

• Assist with the planning and coordination of shows & events.

Studio Upkeep

• Ensure the studio is clean, organised, and ready for use before and after classes

• Monitor and maintain studio equipment, reporting any maintenance issues

• Act as a point of contact for students, parents, and visitors arriving at the studio

Essential Criteria :

• Strong admin skills & competent on systems such as Microsoft word.

• Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Friendly, reliable, and professional manner - particularly with children and families

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

• Comfortable using digital tools such as email, social media, and booking systems

• Willingness to be hands-on and flexible across a range of duties

• Must be able to pass a PVG check to work with children & vulnerable persons.

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience in an administrative or customer-facing role

• Background or training in performing arts (singing, acting, or dance)

• Experience working with children or in an educational/creative environment

• Familiarity with social media management
