Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice is seeking an experienced, customer-focused administrator to join the team as Team Manager – Administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities management, health and safety, and building management.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Support Services team and play a key role in ensuring Duchess of Kent Hospice continues to be a leading provider of outstanding palliative care within our South East Region.
About Us
Sue Ryder offers a range of hospice and community nursing services in Berkshire West and South Oxfordshire, including Reading, Newbury, Wokingham, Wallingford and Henley, and many more local communities in between.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will support with a range of functions:
· Coordinating building faults and issues and escalating where required
· Liaising with NHS Property Service contractors and engineers on site
· Supporting the Head of Operations with creating and updating risk assessments
· Maintaining the medical equipment log and arranging for repair and servicing
· Purchasing supplies and processing purchase orders and invoices
· Main point of contact for any onsite IT requests and issues
· Line management responsibility of Front of House team, Housekeeping team and Site Assistant
· Supporting and providing cover for the other Team Manager with payroll and HR related queries
About You
We are looking for a highly experienced administrator who has an excellent eye for detail. Ideally you will have experience in facilities or property management. You are able to organise yourself and others, coordinate a wide range of tasks within tight timescales, to work under pressure and show initiative. You will play an important role in the effective organisation and coordination of the service.
Other skills required:
· Strong numeracy and attention to detail
· Strong IT skills with good experience of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines
· A proactive, helpful and can-do attitude
· Able to problem solve and make decisions confidently
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
· Experience with coaching and mentoring line reports
