Job Description

Step into Leadership and Help Young Lives Flourish in Wingrave (6–9 Month Secondment)

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and make a genuine difference every day? We are offering an exciting 6–9 month secondment opportunity for someone that is compassionate and motivated to step into a Team Leader role at our residential children’s home in Wingrave.

This is a rewarding chance to build your leadership experience while supporting children with learning disabilities and or autism. Working alongside a passionate team and a supportive Registered Manager, you will help create a home where every child feels safe, valued and able to thrive.

What the role involves

No two days are the same. You will lead and inspire a small, close knit team supporting incredible children in a warm and nurturing home. This secondment offers a valuable opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a real world setting, with guidance and support throughout.

You will:

  • Guide and mentor your team to deliver creative, person centred support tailored to each child
  • Work closely with families, social workers and professionals to ensure support plans are meaningful and up to date
  • Help create a safe, encouraging environment where children can be themselves and grow in confidence
  • Develop consistent, positive approaches to behaviours that may challenge, with support from experienced colleagues and your manager
  • Take a hands on role in daily care, promoting dignity, independence and choice

About the secondment

This is a full time role (38 hours per week), including a mix of days, weekends and bank holidays. As a secondment, this opportunity is ideal for someone looking to gain leadership and management experience, build confidence in leading a team, and broaden their skills within a supportive environment.

Above all, this is a meaningful and fulfilling opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people while investing in your own professional development.

If you are ready to step into leadership, support your team to be their best, and help children grow in confidence and independence, we would love to hear from you.
