ACS International Schools are recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the team at ACS International School Cobham in the Lower School working with ages 2 – 5 in Pre K.

The Teaching Assistant will provide support for 40 hours per week during term time, 08:00 – 16:00, Monday – Friday. This is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of lessons
  • Assist with the welfare of the children
  • Create a safe, stimulating and happy learning environment
  • Promote a love of learning and encourage the children to achieve their full potential
  • Be aware of and implement ACS values, policies and procedures
  • Liaise with the School Secretary
  • Supervise the children on and off transport, to and from classes, assembly, at break times/lunch etc
  • Support the class teacher with setting up activities/gathering resources
  • Assist with health and safety procedures for SEND children and those with allergies
  • Work with and support groups of children under the teachers’ direction
  • Assist with keeping the classroom tidy and prepare/put up displays
  • Carry out reasonable additional duties as required.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • GCSE (A-C) or NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) for supporting teaching and learning in school is preferred
  • Professional level of English speaking and writing
  • Prior experience of supporting children ages 3-5, working in a school environment is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to be proactive, approachable, empathetic, organised, highly visible and confident, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams in a variety of circumstances, and to accept change with flexibility
  • To apply good organisational and time management skills.

Specific role details:

Term time, Monday – Friday
Start date: 24th August 2026
