Are you passionate about unleashing creativity and nurturing the next generation of young artists?

We are seeking an exceptional Art teacher to join our dynamic and forward‑thinking department. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic ECT, we would love to hear from you!

Join a dynamic Art department where creativity flourishes, students consistently reach their full potential, and artistic exploration is encouraged at every stage. Our curriculum blends strong foundational skills – such as drawing, colour theory and art history – with opportunities for students to contextualise and showcase their work progressively from KS3 all the way to A Level.

You will initially be teaching Key Stage 3 students with the potential for teaching across all three Key Stages in the future (dependent on student uptake at GCSE and A Level). Candidates should therefore be capable of teaching Art to GCE A2 Level.

The successful applicant will be someone who can inspire students of all abilities and who wishes to add to the success of the Art department by implementing their own ideas and strategies. You must be passionate about developing students' confidence, as well as have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to raising standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a committed and innovative team and take the next step in your teaching career.

Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys is one of the largest boy’s grammar schools in the country. In late 2021, we benefited from a multi-million pound investment, which resulted in a brand-new sports building at our Tunbridge Wells campus and the opening of our Sevenoaks campus.

We can offer you the opportunity to work with highly able young people in a supportive, well-equipped and forward-thinking school.  We offer a friendly and inclusive working environment and the chance to be part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team, who work hard and support each other to deliver personalised, bespoke education and care.

Staff benefit from a positive working environment, with strong support for professional development and specialist teaching rooms. We aim for high standards and the pursuit of academic excellence, helping every student to reach their full potential through the development of skills, concepts and knowledge, within the framework of a caring community. Relationships between staff and students are based on trust, mutual respect and a determination to succeed.

Please note that we will only accept CVs that are accompanied by an application form (see below). We shall review applications as we receive them so apply early! We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
