Supports: Tape-Ball Cricket Sessions & End-of-Year Tournament

Our volunteers play a vital role in making cricket welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. From supporting beginner-friendly sessions and community events to celebrating heritage and creating safe spaces for women and young people, volunteers help build confidence, connection, and opportunity through cricket.
No prior cricket experience is required just enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for community engagement. Volunteers will support session delivery, welcome participants, assist with events, and help strengthen links between cricket and local communities.
By volunteering, you’ll help break down barriers to participation, celebrate cultural diversity, and inspire a lasting love of the game
Role Purpose:
To help deliver welcoming, beginner-friendly tape-ball cricket sessions that encourage participation from underrepresented groups, particularly women and South Asian communities and African Caribbean communities
Key Responsibilities:
- Support coaches with session setup, equipment, and basic drills
- Welcome participants and help create a friendly, inclusive environment
- Encourage beginners and support female-friendly participation
- Assist with attendance recording and informal feedback
- Support logistics at the end-of-year National tape-ball tournament
Skills & Experience (Desirable):
- Interest in cricket
- Strong interpersonal and community engagement skills
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Ability to encourage confidence in beginners
Volunteer Impact:
Helps reduce barriers to participation and builds confidence, skills, and community cohesion through accessible cricket.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, and committed to working with their community and local community groups to inspire, support, and help organise fun, inclusive events and activities that engage people and bring communities together through cricket.
They will be comfortable welcoming participants from diverse backgrounds, encouraging confidence and participation, and supporting safe, positive environments for women, young people, and underrepresented groups. No formal cricket experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
