Bloxham School is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and committed Swimming Teachers to join our thriving leisure provision on a zero-hours basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for qualified instructors to deliver high-quality swimming lessons to a wide range of participants, from beginners to more advanced swimmers, within a welcoming and well-equipped environment. You will play a key role in helping individuals build confidence, develop technique and enjoy their time in the water.

The Role:

Working as part of the Leisure team, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons for children and adults of all abilities.
  • Adapt sessions to meet the needs of individual swimmers, supporting progression and confidence in the water.
  • Demonstrate and explain swimming techniques clearly and effectively.
  • Identify and correct faults in technique, helping swimmers improve performance.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is used safely and appropriately.
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain high safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain attendance records and provide feedback on progress where required.
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging participation and enjoyment in swimming.

The Person:

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Swim England (ASA) or STA Level 2 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to differentiate sessions to suit a range of abilities.
  • Have the ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of all ages.
  • Be approachable, patient and confident in building rapport with participants.
  • Possess strong communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

A National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) or equivalent safety qualification would be advantageous.

About the Role:

This is a zero-hours position offering flexible working patterns, ideal for those seeking part-time or additional coaching work. Sessions may include evenings and weekends, depending on programme needs.
