Description
The University of Nottingham invests heavily in sport, including a £40m Sports Village and extensive coaching and development support for its 74 sports clubs and 125+ teams.
The University was named Sports University of the Year by The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021 and 2024.
The University of Nottingham Swimming Club is a Development Club with around 200 members across four squads, Social, Development, Competitive, and Performance which offer training for all levels.
Most sessions take place in the 25m pool at David Ross Sports Village, with additional training held at the 50m pool at Harvey Hadden Sports Village.
Competitive and Performance Squad: up to 8 sessions per week
Social and Development Squad: up to 4 sessions per week
Minimum Requirements for Competitive and Performance Coach:
Swim England Swimming Coach (Level 2) or equivalent
Appropriate First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications
Minimum Requirements for Social and Development Coach:
On a pathway to completing Level 1 Swimming coaching/teaching
Working towards appropriate First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications
Expectations: Availability for club training sessions, typically mornings (pre 9am) and evenings (post 4pm)
Availability for BUCS competitions, typically one weekend in November and one weekend in February.
Training varies depending on the squad, so this can be discussed with the successful candidate
Consideration for further competitions may be required.
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates to be interviewed in May/June 2026.
