SVQ Assessor – Health and Social Care, 0.8 FTE / 28 Hours per week (Term Time) Permanent

Working with Faculty staff in Health and Social Care, you will be responsible for assessing and verifying SVQ portfolios initially at level 3 or otherwise directed.

This post will have a start date of August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

This role will require you to be responsible for the effective support of students assigned, assess SVQ portfolios relevant to the students assigned, organise and manage all student placements within the assigned curriculum area, carry out site visits to undertake direct observation of candidates’ work, undertake a guidance role for students, comply with the college policy on quality, guidance and student welfare and to monitor the progress of students. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You will hold a relevant SVQ/NVQ or vocationally related qualification at, or above, the level being assessed.  Hold a relevant assessor qualification; and be able to evidence Continuous Professional Development.

You will have significant experience in assessing students’ portfolios, be able demonstrate effective organisation and management skills to contribute to the development and  delivery of Faculty objectives, have the ability to maintain effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders and be able to undertake partnership work and raise the college’s profile externally.
