Summary of the Role

Summary of the Role

Key Responsibilities

We are recruiting a reliable, motivated, and dynamic Support Worker to join the Kingsmead Cluster team on a part-time weekend basis. This role is critical in ensuring continuity of high-quality, person-centred support during weekends and Bank Holidays, helping people to maintain safe, sustainable tenancies and to develop the daily living skills required to live independently.

Working directly with people who may be experiencing mental health challenges and social disadvantage, you will promote empowerment, choice, and independence, supporting individuals to lead their own journey towards stability and wellbeing.

This is a frontline delivery role and does not include line-management or budgetary responsibilities.

Part-time 20 hours

6 months fixed-term contract

£12,742.91 per annum (Basic Annual Salary) plus £1906.0 per annum (Geographical Allowance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to service users within supported or temporary accommodation settings during weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • Promote service user leadership, ensuring individuals are actively involved in decisions about their support, goals, and daily routines.
  • Support people to develop and maintain independent living skills, including:
  • Tenancy sustainment
  • Budgeting and financial awareness
  • Daily routines and self-care
  • Engagement with health, housing, and community services
  • Carry out regular welfare checks, risk monitoring, and responsive support, escalating concerns appropriately in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records using digital systems, ensuring high standards of data quality, confidentiality, and information governance.
  • Use strong IT skills to update support plans, log contacts, and contribute to handovers and service reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, on-call managers, and external partners to ensure safe and consistent service delivery.
  • Act in line with Together’s values, contributing to a culture of respect, inclusion, and recovery-focused practice.
  • Support a safe environment by following health & safety procedures and contributing to positive risk-taking approaches.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Experience of working in a support, care, housing, or mental health setting (paid or voluntary).
  • A strong commitment to empowering people and supporting independence rather than creating dependency.
  • Good IT and digital literacy, with confidence using case-management systems, email, and basic reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably during weekends and Bank Holidays, using initiative while remaining accountable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with service users.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting people with mental health needs, housing instability, or complex social needs.
