Hours: 20-40 hours per week over a 2-week rolling pattern & 36 hours per week over a 2-week rolling pattern

Location: Penzance & Hayle

Due to our sponsorship obligations, we are unable to offer part-time hours to those requiring sponsorship

Driver of manual license is essential for these services

About the Role:
Our support workers will be experienced preferably in working and supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and other diagnoses and could include some personal care. Each individual has their own support plan which is the quintessential guide in their needs, likes and dislikes and communication.

Our support workers will work in a person-centered way to the needs and choices of everyone supported. The two services we are recruiting for are very different from each other, which will be discussed at interview.

Hayle

  • 36 hours per week over 4 nights
  • Driver essential due to location
  • Shift pattern to be confirmed.

Supporting two gentlemen who are non-verbal using Makaton and visual aids for communication, this service provides a mix of 1:1 and 2:1 Support during the days and 1:1 support overnight. The successful candidate will need to be a driver due to service location and very limited public transport being available. Some personal care may be required in this service as well as communication through behaviours which training is provided for.

St Clares-Penzance

  • 40 hours per week over 4 nights

St Clares is a core shared support service where we provide a mixture of shared and 1:1 support across 8 flats, currently each individual uses verbal communication and have varying levels of support needs. They are all keen to make their own choices and will openly share their likes and dislikes with support. Support staff need to be forward thinking and willing and needing to be able to work across supporting all 8 individuals as and when required including going and checking on them when in shared support. ​Some support maybe emotional reassurance to helping and prompting with personal care, household and daily living tasks, watching movies, playing games, supporting with appointments and medication. We aim to support and improve peoples independent living skills but understand that needs and abilities can change at any point and so we need to be prepared and adaptable to deal with an ever-changing service.

We are currently looking for waking night staff who are resilient, quality driven, flexible staff to join our team to support the wonderful individuals who reside with us.

About the usual working pattern:

St Clares – Penzance:

  • Week 1, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights all shifts 10pm to 8am
  • Week 2, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights. 10pm to 8am
