Waking Night Support Worker - Wingrave

Some of the most important support happens after the lights go off. If you're calm under pressure, naturally patient, and genuinely want to be there for someone when it matters most, this could be the role for you.

At our children's home in Wingrave, we support young people aged 10–19 with autism and severe learning disabilities. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll be a steady, reassuring presence through the night - working consistent 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts to help create a home that feels safe, calm and secure, whatever the hour.

What the Role Involves

• Settling in for the night- helping young people get comfortable and ready for sleep, at their own pace
• Overnight care- regular checks throughout the night, responding with warmth, patience and respect whenever comfort, reassurance or personal care is needed
• Morning handover- helping set a positive tone for the day ahead as they get ready for MacIntyre School nearby
• Working as a team- collaborating closely with colleagues so that nights are treated with the same care and consistency as the daytime

You don't need direct experience - we're more interested in who you are than what's on your CV. If you're caring, resilient, a genuine listener, and open to learning, we'll give you all the training and support you need to thrive in the role.

About You

You may have been a care assistant or support worker before, but if not don’t worry, you don’t need experience – so long as you have the right approach, we'll teach you the rest.

We’ll support you to gain your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (free of charge), alongside other specialist training all provided on site by MacIntyre. The Diploma is a requirement for all Support Workers at our residential children's homes and you will need to obtain it within two years of starting your employment with us.
