About the service

Based in Peterhead, this role involves supporting two individuals within their own homes. Both gentlemen are blind and require support with personal care, social outings, household duties, attending health appointments, and day-to-day management of finances and medication.

You will encourage the individuals to be as independent as possible, supporting them to develop new skills, try new experiences and continue participating in the groups and activities they enjoy. No two days are the same in this service! The individuals enjoy a wide range of activities, including swimming, bowling, cycling, baking, attending concerts and discos, spending time with family, going on holiday and much more!

Due to the variety of activities the individuals take part in, as well as some of the rural locations they visit, a full UK driving license is essential for this role.

Shift patterns

The shift times for this service are:

  • 7:30am - 4pm
  • 4pm - 7:30am including sleepover (sleepover paid at normal hourly rate)

Mid shifts (typically around 5 hours) to support activities and outings. These vary depending on the individuals plans for the day, and can take place during afternoons or evenings.

You will be expected to work a mixture of all shift patterns, including weekends, on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the individuals we support..
