We're looking for Male Support Workers to join a dedicated team supporting a gentleman in his late 30s to live a safe, fulfilling and independent life. This is a truly rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, providing consistent support, and making a genuine difference every day.

You'll be supporting a gentleman who is polite, engaging and naturally curious about the world around him. He enjoys getting out and about in his car, going for walks when possible, and spending time exploring his interests.

A real food enthusiast, he has a passion for cooking and loves learning about Bangladeshi and Jewish cuisine, culture and traditions. He also enjoys relaxing at home with a good film and appreciates support workers who can share conversations, encouragement and a positive outlook.

We're looking for people who are:

  • Calm, confident and reassuring, particularly during times of distress
  • Patient, emotionally resilient and able to remain steady under pressure
  • Proactive, with the ability to use their initiative
  • Comfortable following structured support plans and routines
  • Positive team players who value consistency
  • Able to bring an appropriate sense of humour and warmth to their role

This role would suit someone who is looking for more than just a job – someone who wants to be fully present, build trust, and support an individual to thrive with dignity, respect and confidence.

What Will I Be Doing?

You'll be part of a specialist support team within a structured complex-needs community setting made up of five bungalows. This is an environment where consistency, teamwork and professionalism are essential.

Your role will involve:

  • Supporting the gentleman with day-to-day living and community activities
  • Following Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and agreed strategies
  • Maintaining clear and professional boundaries
  • Providing calm, consistent support during behaviours of distress
  • Encouraging independence and promoting choice and control
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure a safe and supportive environment
  • Helping the person you support enjoy their hobbies, interests and goals

This is a rewarding opportunity to develop specialist skills while making a lasting impact on someone's life. If you're resilient, compassionate and committed to delivering high-quality support, we'd love to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll support him to maintain stability, independence and a meaningful routine, including:

  • Providing reassurance and consistency
  • Following behaviour support plans
  • Supporting through behaviours of distress
  • Personal care (varied levels)
  • Medication administration
  • Manual handling
  • Cooking, cleaning and household tasks
  • Supporting budgeting & daily living skills
  • Safe community access, including walks and trips out by car
  • Encouraging his interest in cooking and trying new cultural dishes

This role requires someone who is observant, proactive and confident in structured environments.
Full PBS training is provided, but previous experience in complex or challenging support is essential.
