Supporting people to live great lives
At Affinity Trust, we support people to live meaningful lives in ways that are right for them. As a Support Worker, you’ll play an important part in helping people feel valued, connected, and supported to do the things they enjoy.
You’ll be part of a calm and caring household where kindness, patience, and good communication make a real difference.
Who will I support?
You will be supporting four people in their home, three gentlemen and one lady, each with their own routines, preferences, and ways of communicating. This is a role where taking the time to get to know each person really matters, so you can support them in a way that feels comfortable, respectful, and right for them.
Two people are wheelchair users, so you’ll need to be comfortable with moving and handling support. Communication is at the heart of this role, as the people we support share how they feel in different ways, including through gestures and body language.
The household is calm and quiet, and the people we support enjoy a range of activities such as cookery classes, Smile Group, cinema trips, bowling, holidays, and visits to garden centres.
What will I do?
You’ll support people in a way that feels respectful, calm, and encouraging. This may include helping with personal care, supporting routines, encouraging independence, and helping people enjoy time in their community.
You’ll need to be flexible, as shifts include weekends and sleep-ins, and we’re looking for someone who can adapt to the needs of the household.
A driving licence is preferred but not essential. Part-time roles may also be considered.
What benefits will I have?
We have a range of benefits that you can mix and match to suit you, such as:
- Stream– access part of your pay as you earn it, plus coaching, discounts, cashback, and vouchers.
- Blue Light Card– membership reimbursement for discounts in shops and restaurants.
- Simply Health– fully funded health cash plans with access to a 24-hour GP and cashback on healthcare costs.
- Buy and sell annual leave– transfer windows open twice a year.
- Pension and Life Assurance– Scottish Widows pension scheme and life assurance included.
If you’re ready to make a positive impact and support people to live meaningful lives, we’d love to hear from you.
An enhanced DBS check will be required, and we will submit and pay for this on your behalf.
